Health Care Directive
Apower of attorney for health care, or an advance healthcare directive, is a document that allows you to appoint a health care agent and state your specific instructions for your future health care if you cannot speak for yourself. Your health care agent can make decisions for your medical care when you are incapacitated and you can grant that person as much power as you wish, including the power to refuse or consent to health care treatment and the power to refuse or consent to life-sustaining treatment.
Bartlett & Herrington creates a power of attorney and health care directive for each estate plan we prepare for our clients. We work with California residents who reside in Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria, Ojai, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley.
