Power of Attorney

Afinancial power of attorney allows someone to manage your finances if you are unable to make decisions for yourself. A financial power of attorney can take effect immediately or can be drafted so that it only goes into effect if a doctor certifies that you are incapacitated and, therefore, unable to make decisions for yourself. A financial power of attorney provides someone with legal authority to act on your behalf and perform tasks such as handling your banking, buying or selling real estate, using your assets to pay your everyday expenses, investing your assets, operating your small business, and filing and paying your taxes.

Bartlett & Herrington creates a power of attorney and health care directive for each estate plan we prepare for our clients. We work with California residents who reside in Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria, Ojai, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley.
